Why is wedding photography so expensive?

A wedding is more than just an event. It is a once-in-a-lifetime milestone filled with traditions and meaningful moments. While décor, food, and venue are important, only one thing lasts forever: your wedding photographs and films.

A good wedding photographer does not just take pictures, but they capture real emotions and relationships from the colourful Haldi and Mehendi to the wedding ceremony and emotional goodbyes and memories that you will relive for years to come.

Many couples wonder why wedding photography feels expensive.

Please note that you are paying for peace of mind and reliability.

High-end cameras and equipment, long hours of editing (often 40 to 100 hours after the wedding), carefully designed albums and cinematic wedding films, years of professional experience and creative planning, backup crew, storage, and data safety to avoid any loss—this is where the investment goes.

Please do not treat this as just another service, but as a specialized craft where there is no second chance.

How Much Should You Spend on Wedding Photography?

In India generally, couples spend about 2 to 4% of their wedding budget on photography. However, with today’s larger and more detailed weddings, this is often not enough.

To get professional quality and complete coverage, it is better to plan around 8 to 10% of your total wedding budget for photography, and this ensures your memories are captured the right way.
